| Examples of some other peripherals that can function
with the em·power system. |
  |
Phase Coupler
Phase couplers electronically join the electrical service
phases in residential and light commercial load centers to
allow transmitted X10 power line carrier signals to properly
reach devices on each phase.
Some models of phase coupler simply plug into a 220v outlet
and other are professionally installed at the load center.
Further, some products attenuate the X10 commands so as to
prevent them from entering or leaving the building. |
 |
Power Strip
Surge protection devices divert damaging voltage transients,
or surges, away from electronic equipment. This plug-in style
represented is intended to protect AC power only. |
 |
System Phoneline Surge Protector
This model of surge protector is an 8-wire dial-in line connector
designed to protect answering machines, phones, modems, and
other phone related equipment from routine transient voltage
surges. This inline surge protector is designed to only protect
communication lines. |
  |
2-way computer interface (CM11A or TI103)
The Two-way universal computer interface enables the empower
system to send and receive X10 signals via the powerline to
control compatible lighting and outlets programmed into the
system. |
 |
System Backup Battery
Each empower system utilizes a rechargeable sealed lead acid
battery, 12V-8.0Ah for temporary backup power. |
  |
Plug-in or Wired Noise Reducer
The noise filter is for isolating electrical appliances and/or
equipment that generate noise pollution on the power line. Big
screen televisions, hair dryers, laser printers, transformers
and more can cause noise to be generated on the power line.
|
 |
Phone Block
The phone block assures the proper seizure of the phone line
during an emergency event where the em·power system is
programmed to call out for help. |
 |
Transformer
The transformer for the em·power system is a 16.5 VAC,
50VA plug-in grounded unit. It also features an auto resetting
fused secondary that allows the output to withstand a direct
short and restore itself after the short is removed. |
